Doug Purdon – Watercolour Workshop

 In this workshop Doug will teach you the planning and techniques that you need in order to create professional watercolour paintings.  From your initial concept through drawing, composition, colour and final finishing you will learn how to think as an artist.  Topics covered will include: visualizing the final painting, perfecting drawing skills; creative composition; and how to become your own critic. You will learn about watercolour papers, paints, markers, mediums and techniques.  We also will explore the new Winsor & Newton watercolour papers. Instruction will be by demonstrations and individual Teaching. This course is open to artists of all levels who wish to paint in watercolour.
Doug Purdon is a graduate of OCA and an elected member of the SCA and OSA.  His work is exhibited in Canada, the U.S. and Britain.   He has worked with Winsor & Newton for twenty years.  His work is in major collections in Canada, U.S. and U.K.

Bianka Guna - Golden Acrylic Bootcamp
In this workshop you will learn valuable information about Golden Acrylics as well as Golden Gels , Mediums and Pastes that will open up new possibilities. You will see how mineral and modern pigments relates to clean color mixing, glazing and the creation of fabulous new mixed colors. Learn the unique properties of fluid acrylics , and the various gels, pastes and aggregates that transform any surface into an acrylic friendly one. Check out the amazing new grounds to prepare contemporary surfaces for painting, drawing, pastel and mixed water media.

Sandra Crozier - Fluid Acrylics in Abstract
This fluid acrylic abstract class is designed for the courageous individual who will experiment with their own creative imagination using colour. We will work on infallible palettes, textures and independent studies. I teach techniques and I do demos, but mostly I work the class, spending as much time as I can with each student. It's important. Commit to the challenge, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Marianne Broome - Loosen up your Landscapes in Acrylics
This is an exciting workshop for those who want to paint in a looser style. Marianne describes the process for interpreting the reference photo, creating a value sketch, simplifying the arrangement of objects and choosing an exciting colour palette. In her demonstrations she explains all of the techniques for a more impressionistic look. These include: massing to eliminate detail, loose brushwork, making the most of atmospheric perspective and center of focus, working around the painting and overall harmony. Reference photos will be supplied.

Marianne Broome - Watercolour Floral Workshop
Join us for an exciting workshop in painting bright, realistic, close-up florals. Marianne will give daily step-by-step demonstrations, providing a wealth of information and explaining her techniques as she goes. Areas covered will include composition, colour selection, wet in wet techniques, gentle washes, backgrounds, values, depth, harmony and much more. All this in a relaxed class where any level can be accommodated.
